Collectively we all are responsible for the future of our planet. This fashion show is based in the belief that sustainable fashion can have a better impact on the environment. Edwina Ehrman (2018), curator of the recent sustainable exhibition, Fashioned from Nature at the V & A believes it is not too late to make a difference. Ehrman (2018) argues ‘The hour is upon us, but if we act swiftly and boldly we can leave a world to future generations marked not by the suffering of nature and some of its people, but by a world marked by human progress.’ This collection and associated event aims to show that sustainability can be cutting edge and in the long run a kinder fabric to mankind.

An interdisciplinary fashion film
From September the 15th I shall be starting a new venture; a Masters in Critical Creative Practise at Southampton Solent. This will enable me to take my study of fabric further and enhance my ability to critically evaluate my work in progress. I recently watched a BBC documentary about Hokusai who continually wanted to improve his work over each decade. He lost his house, and artwork due to a fire and by 80 was still thinking he could improve. I think that is something we can all learn. I post an inspiring painting, Dragon flying over Mount Fuji 1849. Copyright: Hokusai.

Along side this I will be teaching Arts and crafts at the Adult Community Learning Centre teaching a range of creative classes such as Watercolour, pom poms and cake stands! I look forward to sharing my passion for Art and networking with other like minded people!
I have a new page Craftanoon tea which involves the teaching of lots of up cycling projects. Please see the below flyer for more info!

Open Arts had a fantastic turn out this year and I was very pleased to chat to many interesting people. Some great feedback and sales made over the three days.
In the fast few months I’ve been busy doing a lovely wedding commission for a couple which involves illustrations of the couple in special scenes for the wedding breakfast. All will be revealed in September. Exciting! I have also been working on some new summer print designs for scarves/cushions.
I am now taking on commissions for summer weddings, pet portraits, custom paintings or bespoke printed fabric from August 1st 2017. Send me a message if you have a project, big or small, and I would be delighted to help. Many examples of the style of my work can be found in my online collection page.
